Photo Shoot with Mary Cooper

Allow me to introduce Mary Cooper, the current Miss Hutt Valley and just finished Miss Universe New Zealand and got decorated Miss Personality.

We had a super fast shoot together on this super hot Sunday, seamed like every soul in Wellington had decided to spend the day on the beach.

Here’s a quickie to get you started our new work together. Enjoy!

Ward’s Secret Wedding

Thou I rarely do wedding shoots I caved in for this time, suspecting it might not be the last one, and followed Kim McMahon and Brian Ward to Kaitoke Regional Park that was used as a set when filming Rivendell  in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Behind the scenes on ‘With Firm Intent’

Old is new!

With the latest progress of the short film With Firm Intent I thought it might be a good idea to show some more behind the scene shots taken at one of the last filming occasions.

I must say that shooting photos for behind the scenes material is a luxury, no matter what people say about being on set, wet and cold, it is a luxury to have actors on location with make-up done and ready to pose without having to make any preparations. And those powerful film lights already set up for sure speeds up the process. What a joy. Read more

Anastasia Khuziakhmetova aka. Hypnotica

Why does it always have to be like this?

This is what we achieved after only one afternoon of shooting with model, make-up artist and dancer Anastasia Khuziakhmetova. That’s all good, but 3 days later she moved to Adelaide Australia with her husband…

After some talks we decided to do the photoshoot mainly indoors to be on the safe side weather wise, in this case we were able to use the lobby of the Museum Hotel in Wellington. A very stylish Hotel with lots of differently furbished corners that worked perfectly with the fifties style we were going for. As usual I tried to work with existing light and just punch in with a small flash where needed.

Photoshoot with Regan Hillyer

Today I had the opportunity to do a shoot with Regan Hillyer for the first time.

We started at the upper parts of Roseneath in Wellington, there are some cute streets and walkways up there. We gave it a try at a zigzagging walkway but felt pretty soon that the wardrobe wasn’t matching the location, didn’t have to look too far thou before we found a white gravely wall accompanied by black asphalted pavement which work for what I had in mind.

Bianca Stapp in Wellington for a day

What a fun day! Bianca decided to do a small trip over to Wellington this weekend and shoot some material for her portfolio.

This shot was taken in one of the few graffiti alleys in Wellington, just of Ghuznee street. I was even lucky enough to get some real graffiti kids doing their thing in the background, something to just be great full over and capture the moment.

Lexxie Robinson

What a day! 9 set-ups and heaps of good photos on our first time working together. Not bad at all if you ask me.

This is the first booked shoot for me in the southern hemisphere and it has been quite challenging just to get this far. Apart from language barriers and cultural views on glamour/beauty photography, there’s  also the extremely small community for photography down here compared to Sweden or even to Auckland resulting in very few active and serious models. With Lexxie this was no problem what so ever, she was a pro from start till finish.

Morning sun is fun!

Last night I got a late call from my photographer mate Magnus Österhult who had booked an early shoot the following morning with Julia and was wondering if I wanted to join. Sure thing I said, not realizing that he was serous about the earliness, we meet up a little bit after 5 in the morning and started shooting at a nudist beach in Wellington called Breaker Bay.

Julia was a real pro and managed to follow both of us, even if I had to strike a pose from time to time to explain what I wanted. Think it says more about my English than anything else…  when I think of it, I believe I strike poses even when I shoot in Swedish. Must be my feminine side trying to get out.
